Phosphates REMOVER

Description

This product uses the ability of trivalent iron to instantly precipitate phosphate ions from seawater.

Once phosphates are captured by trivalent iron as solid iron phosphate, they become unavailable to marine organisms and thus have no further negative impact on aquarium biology.

These precipitates can then be removed through fine mechanical filtration (filter floss, micron bags, or roller filters) and by the protein skimmer. Note that colorimetric phosphate tests, which contain acidic reagents, will redissolve this precipitate, falsely detecting phosphate even though it’s bound. A good method to verify the product’s efficiency is to test the skimmer waste, which will show a significantly higher phosphate level one to two hours after use.

Unlike traditional iron hydroxide resins, this product allows you to remove a precisely defined amount of phosphate. It can be used daily with a dosing pump to reliably and accurately control phosphate levels and maintain optimal conditions in the aquarium.

As trivalent iron precipitates immediately upon contact with phosphates, it does not increase bioavailable iron levels in the aquarium. For systems equipped with a sump and mechanical filtration, dose the product directly into the overflow so that precipitates are immediately removed.

Instructions for use:
0.2 mL of product precipitates 0.01 mg/L of phosphate in 100 L of aquarium water.
Do not reduce phosphate levels by more than 0.01 mg/L per day at the start. 
In case of high phosphate excess, spread the total required dose over several days, monitor levels frequently, and gradually increase the dosage if needed.
